CULINARY TRAVELS

Two years ago, I went to Vietnam and here are some pictures from the culinary aspect.

The first set is from a local farmer’s market. In a city as big as Saigon there’s about 4 such markets and a few smaller ones. It’s a lot like a farmer’s market in the states……no, I take it back. It’s NOTHING like our farmer’s market. The ones in Vietnam open at first light (fresh seafood and cut meats) and at around 2pm-3pm, almost everything you see in the pics are sold.

I took a break and sat down at an outdoor food vendor for some lunch. Traditional “Bun Bo Hue” soup. Delicious, and it only costs me $1.75……with the tea. Can anyone identify the ingredients?

We got caught in a HUGE flash storm, so my sister and I seeked cover in a quaint Vietnamese/French bistro.

Later that night, we had terrific family-style meal overlooking the city.
